Events Calendar

We know it isn't easy to head into Cambridge or Boston so we bring storytelling to communities outside Greater Boston. If you would like us to bring a Fugitive storytelling event to your area, or, have a venue you think is perfect for Fugitive stories, please let us know!

Kickstand Cafe, Arlington

Each month, we bring Moth and Massmouth winners, along with others from the local arts community, to share their stories. Do you want to tell your story on our theme. Sign up at the cafe or fill out our form online. We'll get back to you to let you know if you're in. We also invite audience members who are interested in telling a two- to three-minute story on our theme to drop their name in a hat. If chosen, they’ll tell their tale.

Our 2017 Fall series:

  • Thursday, September 28 — “Ink”
  • Thursday, October 26 — “Breathless”
  • Thursday, November 30 — “On the Move”

September’s Theme: “INK”
“All The News That’s Fit To Print” still appears in “ink” on the front page of the New York Times. Tonight might bring news-related stories or stories about notes scrawled and letters signed with a flourish in “ink.” Ever “ink” your name on a contract or write a check that changed your life? And there’s always a story behind a tattoo and tonight you just might hear more than one!

“Ink” features Moth StorySLAM winners and GrandSLAM finalists Don PIcard & Rose Saia and snappy, Massmouth Story Slam winning teller Peter Carcia.

$10/online • $12/door. Click here to order tickets.
Doors open at 7pm. Storytelling begins at 7:30.

The cafe will be serving before the event and during the break.

Amazing Things Arts Center, Framingham

We return to Framingham this Fall after two enthusiastic evenings of storytelling in the Spring at The Amazing Things Arts Center.

“Breathless
The theme tonight is a shout out to all runners, athletes and gym rats because you know how it feels to be “breathless.” The stories tonight might be about workout horrors or a "breathless" finish at The Boston Marathon! We don't know what tales will be told but we hope that our storytellers leave you “breathless."

This evening features Fugitive Teller Brendyn Schneider who is a 2016 & 2017 Masmouth "Big Mouth Off" Champion Finalist. His true tales about his experiences growing up are a mix of nostalgia and humor that wonderfully wrap audiences in his warm memories. He teaches storytelling and has been on stages around Greater Boston.

The evening also includes some community "folks" telling a story perhaps for the first time. If you want to sign up to be one of these people tonight or at a future event, click fgtiv.com/be-a-teller.

If you aren't inspired to tell a story just yet — join us tonight and if you feel so inclined, drop your name "in the hat" as two people will be selected at random to do so! Or, just join to enjoy an evening of "Breathless" storytelling.

Doors open at 7pm with storytelling beginning at 7:30pm. There is one intermission.

The Amazing Things snack bar will be open before and throughout the event including service of beer and wine.

Tickets are $10 or $13 on the Amazing Things website.
